The ‘Iceberg’ is a very useful way for people to learn about empathy. This skill takes time to learn and patience is needed until the new skill is mastered Naming feelings enables people to have a wider emotional vocabulary and rely less on anger. The ‘Iceberg’ allows people to name the feelings that occur in their own inner world. This concept can be used in everyday life: This will help broaden their understanding. After they have read out their example, use empathy skills to suggest a few more feelings they may have experienced. Once this is complete ask them to read aloud what they have written. The words may or may not be located under the surface in the ‘Anger Iceberg’. Ask them to cross out the word anger and replace it with another feeling word, whatever other feelings they were experiencing at that time. Some examples of other feeling words that fill the underwater part of the iceberg are:Īfter the ‘Iceberg’ is filled with feeling words ask the person to pick up the sheets that they completed earlier in the session, completing the sentence “I felt angry when….”. Other more vulnerable feelings sit below the surface of the iceberg and are primary emotions, which continue to drive the anger when it is not resolved. Write these words on the tip for the iceberg.ĭescribe the impact anger has when it is inappropriately expressed with those who are most loved or closest to us (write these words to the side of the iceberg):Įmphasise that anger is a secondary emotion. The expression of anger can be destructive or constructive. It is just one of the emotions people experience Recognise and briefly discuss the following points:Īnger is neutral. When completed, the participants put the sheet to the side as it will be used later in the session. “I felt angry when Tom ignored me and did not do what I asked”. What we want to achieve is a form with more personality. It isn’t exactly perfect, but it is a start. Be as soft as you can with your lines.Īs you can see by the image, we have a rounder shape for our A. The idea is that you round all hard shapes, like the edges and vertices where edges meet. What we’ll do now is essentially draw outside of your A shape, with a fair distance. Remember, everything we’ll learn for this A can be used for any other letter, number, or symbol. You’ll erase it later, but it is the most important part of this tutorial since it’s the base for what will come next. If you see it’s too tight or too spread out, you can always restart. If you have a hard time knowing, start with something and see how it goes. And don’t open the letter too much either. The width must leave enough room to work around. You just have to apply the same principles.Īs you can see in the image, it’s not good to start with a cramped letter. I’ll start with a capital A, but you can choose any other letter. The way to start drawing Bubble Letters is to draw a normal letter. We’ll go into it a bit more in-depth later.ġ – How to start drawing bubble letters (Skeleton) Draw a normal letter But you can mimic everything I’ll do with markers, Posca pens, Copic Markers, etc. I’ll be using a Rotring Art Pen, but you can choose something else you have at home.įor the final touches, I’ll be using Photoshop and a Wacom Bamboo Pen. To create something a bit more permanent, you can use any pen or marker. You can also add a rubber if you want to clean everything up nicely. In my case, I’ll be using a mechanical pencil. Since we’ll start with the basics, all you need is a pencil and paper. Nonetheless, it is a style used a lot in other ways, like graffiti. There are many uses for this style, and you’ll learn mostly examples on paper and a bit in digital form. You can also think about them as letter balloons. Let’s get started.įor the unfamiliar, bubble letters are letters that have a rounded or inflated effect. Some concepts we’ll dive into can be used in other styles too. We’ll start from the basics and will take it a step further to show you how to boost your creativity. ‘Incorporating darker tones around the nape of the neck and to the underneath layers of the hair creates more shadow, which in turn makes hair look thicker’, adds Paul. Whether you’ve got your eye on a pixie cut, a short bob, midi bob or long bob (‘lob’), some clever colour tricks can help to make thin hair look fuller too. Adding in a fringe will create the appearance of thickness’, explains Paul. Tempted to go even shorter? ‘A pixie cut is also a great hairstyle for fine hair. But this can often have the opposite effect as, in doing this, you cut into fine hair and take more of it away.’ A common mistake that people make when considering a haircut for fine hair is to think that adding more layers will create more volume in the hair. ‘A blunt bob will always make thin hair look thicker. Hairstylist and founder of Percy & Reed Salons, Paul Percival, explains the dos and don’ts of short cuts for fine hair. With so many fresh iterations of the classic bob, from neat French bobs that enhance your bone structure to textured wavy bobs and shaggy, 70s inspired styles, it can be tricky to know what to ask for in the salon chair, especially when you’re after a haircut to make thin hair look thicker. Try a bob or a pixie cut that compliments your face shape.’ ‘You can create a beautiful strong shape with a short haircut and that helps to make fine hair look so much thicker. ‘I think that it can be such a great idea to go short when you have fine hair’, says international session stylist Syd Hayes. That's why we've pulled together a list of all the short hairstyle inspiration you could ever need below. With that in mind, keep scrolling for the best haircuts for thin hair, according to stylists.Short hairstyles aren’t just chic they have particular pros for those of us with fine hair, whether you’ve always had hair on the finer side or have recently noticed that your hair is thinning. “Styling products should be lightweight and volumizing.” “ Shampoos with sulfates and heavy conditioners are a no-no for thinning hair,” Abbey says. From there, it’s all about how you style your cut. “Some people have fine hair, but a lot of it.” Any hair texture can become thin for any number of reasons, but that certainly doesn’t mean you can’t get a fun cut.Ī good short haircut for thin hair will take into consideration your strand’s weight, density, volume, and movement, Plotkin tells Bustle, so that you’re less likely to see through to your scalp. “Fine refers to the actual texture of the hair while thin refers to the number of strands you have on your head,” Abbey says. It’s important to note that thin hair is not the same as fine hair. If you can see through to your scalp, the width of your ponytail is about the size of a nickel, or your strands look thin at the ends, consider it a sign you have thinner hair, she tells Bustle. Thin hair, BTW, refers to the density of your hair, says Lisa Abbey, a professional hairstylist and founder of StrengthXBeauty. Mermaid-length strands are certainly an option, but according to Parker Plotkin, a senior stylist and educator at Julien Farel Restore Salon Palm Beach, a short haircut is a surefire way to make thin hair look thicker. Even though hairstyle trends seem to change with the wind, there are a few that always look extra good on thin hair. Continue moving cards and building up the foundation piles until you’ve completed all 4 piles in ascending order from ace to king. If you run out of cards in one of the 8 columns, you can move any open card to fill the empty space. Cards in the free cells can be moved back to the columns or into the foundation piles if the opportunity arises. There can only be one card in each free cell at a time. You can also move open cards to the free cells to access the cards above them in their column. For example, you can move an open 4 of diamonds onto an open 5 of clubs in a different column. You can also move an open card to a new column as long as the card you place it on top of is one rank higher and an opposite color. To complete a foundation pile, move cards in the same suit as the starting ace onto the pile in ascending order ending with the king. A card is open if it’s at the bottom of a column with no other card covering it. To start a foundation pile, move an open ace from the face-up columns to the pile. The goal of the game is to move all of the cards in the columns to the 4 foundation piles. Leave room for 4 “foundation piles” and 4 “free cells” above the columns. The 4 columns to the left should each have 7 cards, and the 4 columns on the right should each have 6 cards. Still can't figure it out after this explanation? Then watch our how to play Freecell video in which we show you step by step how to solve the game.To play FreeCell Solitaire, first deal out all of the cards in a standard deck in 8 columns in front of you, moving from left to right. These are better than the free cells because you can move a series of several sequential cards to them at the same time.
In addition to this, the further out the game camera is, the quieter the sounds become. More advanced sound card and speaker systems will also play sounds from the top of the screen and the bottom of the screen in a similar way, being heard in front of and behind you. Sounds on the left-hand side of the screen will play more out of the left speaker, while those on the right will play more out of the right. The same is true for any new sound effects you place instead of them- it will take a few moments for the game to adapt to the sound changes you have made before it will cross-fade the sounds and play the correct ones.ĭue to some pretty incredible effects within the game engine, the location of sound effects on the map will depend on which of your speakers the effects come out of. Once you remove sound effects, there will normally be a slight delay in the game fading out the sound effects you have deleted. Simply select the sound pallete from the menu to edit sounds again. The sounds will still continue to be valid and will remain as they are unless erased, however you will only see them whilst specifically editing sounds. The same is true for the visible sound effects placed in the editor. Note that the yellow squares will only show on the minimap for as long as you are using the sounds menu. You can also see on the screenshot above that the sound effects are also displayed as a yellow square on the minimap. Each image is different depending on what sound effect you are trying to place. To place a sound effect, left click on the sound effect in the editor menu and then left click on the map somewhere:Īs you can see, when you place sound effects on the map, they are represented by the circular image-like shape. The full list of sounds available in Stronghold 2 are as follows: To find the sound effects, simply click the speaker icon underneath the "back" button whilst in the editor. These effects can really bring your map to life in ways that other visual effects can't. Whether it's a gentle brook, a waterfall or just a village centre- there are sound effects for everything in Stronghold 2. No map in Stronghold 2 is complete without sound effects.
